This only album by Finchley Boys is a very satisfying mix of psychedelia, hard rock and some bluesy influences. The material was recorded in 1968 and 1969 but the album wasn't released until 1972. The guitarwork is strong and these songs all do their job very well. The album is a pretty consistent totality because there are no clear standout moments. The A-side is very nice but especially the B-side kicks ass here.

When I gave this album a listen for the first time I gave it 3,5 stars out of five. But after all these years I'm glad to say that I like it much more nowadays and I'm gonna rate it with 4,5 stars now. This is not a five stars record but if you're fan of the late 60's psychedelia you gotta check this one out.

Of its time, but well worth a listen, this acid-tinged blues rock local band from Southern Illinois put together a fine LP in the late 60's. It's all there, the psych guitar work, strained vocals and solid rhythm section along with more than decent original songwriting. I'd recommend a listen on streaming and if you fall in love with them, pick up the CD. It's worth repeated listens. Extra points for a fine cover of the Kinks "I'm Not Like Everybody Else. There is ripping fuzzed out lead guitar by Garret Oostdyk all throughout this long play. The vibe of The Finchley Boys' Everlasting Tributes is heavy psych with a touch of blues and that special early 70's sound.

Play this "one and done" loud or catch a buzz and put on the headphones. This is very cool stuff.
