Second Free Fair album '' Free Fair 2'' (1979, Timeless Records) actually came out as a collaboration between the members of the band, at a time when Rob van den Broeck had been arleady involved in Third Eye.It opens with a very long and too loose Jazz Rock piece titled ''West end'', containing too many improvised parts, drum solos and instrumental masturbations, even flirting with Free Jazz forms, and same goes for the whole opening side, which has no evident Fusion elements and is consumed in needless soloing with only a few structured lines. A big dissapointment .Fortunately the flipside is much much better with 2-3 pieces of cool, instrumental Jazz Fusion, featuring lots of delicate flute, interesting acoustic piano and more down-to-Earth sax performamces, especially on ''To Raul'' and ''Napalis'', both breezing some top-league interplays between the musicians and also some nice rhythm breaks. Why including a piece like ''Marathon'' for a closer? This thing seemed to be rolling nicely, before another Free Jazz/Jazz Rock storm strikes again .Seriously virtuosic, but totally directionless.''Free fair 2'' loses the battle again the first album due to its inconsistency.

  2. Whoever wrote that review (presumably not you because if you hated it that much I doubt you'd post it) is a twat and not a real jazz fan. If you hate improvisation and virtuosity, don't listen to jazz or jazz rock!

    1. Nothing here is original brother, I just post stuff I like, and I add some review if I can find it, so people get an idea. If I own the albums I do post my own rips, but the rest is cut and paste from all over... a lot of people that send me stuff, send me stuff with reviews et all!
