Yes I am still around... Times They Are Changing!

 Howdy!

Hello everybody, first of all let me say Thank You to all the people that sent me messages wondering if  I was doing ok healthwise. Well I have been doing OK, pretty busy with my baby daughters (2 & 5) I can tell you, this whole become a dad after 55 is a energy draining business. But one I absolutely love. And it has been keeping me from updating the blog as often as I would have wanted.

This summer marked twenty years of me running music blogs as a hobby, starting with the loved/hated Hammer of the Gods, posting only Led Zeppelin bootlegs, in the times when very little was still freely available to download from the net, net came The Clock That Went Backwards with all kind of Boots, and then the Surfing the Odyssey blog. (And some other short lived projects). Much has changed since then, streaming platforms have pretty much (almost) every album you might desire to listen too, and there are dozens of really good sites to download bootlegs. So I was thinking in changing a bit this blog, and make it more about the reviews, and background information about obscure, lesser known tittles in my 20,000+ collection, some of them not available for streaming, I think I will keep a download link for the music itself but the main job will be in gathering as much info on these rare albums, so older posts might keep getting updated from time to time. Also thinking in creating tags for some special series of posts like Zamrock, or my favorite Fusion albums, or favorite Spiritual Jazz or Rock In Opposition. I am still working around with the ideas and possibilities. If you guys have any ideas, advice, or anything on how to remake this blog into a more interesting place, place drop your ideas on a message.

Thanks for all the support over the last two decades, And see you soon in an freshly upgraded blog.

  2. A father of a 2 and a 5 year old @ 55? I imagine that will transform your world! Frankly, I’m surprised you’re able to keep a blog going but grateful you’re willing to give it a shot. I like what you’ve proposed, focusing on the more obscure, especially the Spiritual Jazz and Rock In Opposition stuff. In any event, I can’t thank you enough for all the great music you’ve posted over the years, some of it known to me, but lots that was new, to my ears anyway. Congrats on the new family and best wishes for the stamina to keep up!.

    1. There will still be plenty of stuff to download, I just got my hands on around a 100+ japanese jazz lp's that have never been reissued in any format... believe me as soon as I rip them I will be writting some stuff and posting as I go... some are comercial copilation albums of the best of the top 40 jazzed up and with some japanese music influence, the stuff we also had in europe in the 70's with sexy ladies on the cover... But then you look at the line up, and its a true who is who of the best Japanese Jazz musicians. And in every one of those LP's there is at least one, (sometimes more) track when they go full J-jazz and will blow your mind!... start making room on the drives brother!
