Zack Glück is Embryo doing what they're doing very well - laid-back world music inspired jazzy utrock jams. While some of the tracks here are somewhat tense in nature, it's mostly a relaxed and soothing listen, similar to Rocksession or We Keep On. There's nothing here that would make your jaw drop, but it's a very good album if you're a fan of the style.

Effortlessly fusing Krautrock with jazz and ethnic music, Embryo were unparalleled in the world of progressive fusion, and 1984's Zack Glück is one of their most ambitious and rewarding LPs. Flutes and saxophones mix with oud, marimba, and violin to make an intoxicating concoction. Originally released on Italian label Materiali Sonori, now officially reissued on vinyl for the first time.
